Hi Friends of Oompf, it’s Alvan here. Today we will be talking about keeping fit while traveling.
With travel restrictions slowly being lifted, some of us have started to travel, be it for business or to return home to see family. Motivation to exercise whilst travelling is tough. These questions may pop into your head. Will there be a gym nearby? What if I don’t have time? Well the good news is that there are plenty of ways you can maintain a healthy lifestyle and stay fit even without a gym!
1. Pack a couple of resistance bands Resistance bands will be your best friends while traveling. Not only are they light and easy to pack, you can get a full body workout with just 2/3 different bands. Even a 30minute workout with the bands are better than nothing.
2. Pack protein powder If you are traveling for a week or 2, packing some protein powder will be beneficial. It is still important to have an adequate amount of protein intake while traveling and sometimes you may not have the best food options available to you. Hence protein powder will be an easy way to ensure sufficient protein in your diet.
3. Walk whenever you can Exercise is not just limited to the gym or having equipment. Walking also counts as exercise and getting as many steps as you can in a day will be great for your activity levels.
4. Search for nearby gyms/ fitness classes beforehand Having a planned itinerary will help greatly in saving time looking for exercise options once you are overseas. Do thorough research on the closest/ most convenient exercise options so that you know what to expect in terms of cost, travel distance and ease of access.
